The canyon of Uvac is one of the nicest natural sites in Serbia-Montenegro. Forming the meanders on the distance of more than 2,000 meters the river Uvac breaks its way through the walls of a slight rocky slope. A dense forest, in autumn and in spring decorated by many colours covers the environmental massifs from foot to the top in the form of a gown. The old mountains and the wedged in valleys form an especially exciting landscape.

After leaving Nova Varos to the direction of Zlatibor, direct yourself to right in the direction of Bozetici. After having passed Komarani you will come to the crossroads separating the lakes of Zlatar and Uvac. Pass the crossroads and at 300 m higher from the hill stop to admire the view of the canyon of Uvac. A very nice view will be offered to you of the river and the meanders. Opposite of the culminatig points of Zlatar the eagles  will be cruising in the sky. You are in the reservation of Uvac.

The canyon of the river Uvac stretching over 60 km2 has been declared natural reservation. The rare trees as the Pancic fir tree and the weeping beech are protected here, as well as the animal species threatened by desperation as the bear and the wolf. But there are more than 150 bird species which found a refuge here. Well, the symbolic figure of Uvac it is the “beloglavi sup”. An eagle whose wings can be stretched up to 2.80 m, the beloglavi sup is recognisable by its white head and his feathers of the chestnut colour. Thanks to the activities of certain associations on rescuing 80 pairs have been saved. One should see them circling around the meanders of Uvac wings stretched to pit themselves on a height not reachable to the man.

Direct then your way to Bozetici, but before entering the village take the road in the form of an Y to the left as there is no sign. Eight kilometres more on this way of the red earth and you come to the ethno village of Stitkovo. The villagers still live here in the houses typical for West Serbia of the square form and on a base of stone with one floor, construction of wood with the roof of tiles or slate. The blacksmiths, the fellers and peasants exercise here their occupations and are greeting you with the welcome. In the village centre the orthodox church of a simple design put on a white box surrounded by a wonderful clearing. It was constructed in1867 in the place where an ancient monastery had been destroyed by Turks in the time of the First Serbian Insurrection. Several icons and an iconostasis made the masters Debrani.
