History Krusevac is interesting for its history because it suffered all uncertainties of Serbian history. Constructed in 1374 by Prince Lazar, it became the capital. Therefrom he went to the battle on Kosovo Polje where he had been defeated. Thus this event had been tragical for Krusevac. Before the Turkish offensives a great part of the population had emigrated into Hungary The town became Alidza Hisar when it had fallen into the Turkish hands.1455. it had not been liberated till 1806. During the I World War Krusevac had been occupied by Austrians and it was the theatre of numerous affrontings in 1941. Tourist sites LAZAR’s CITY - The town constructed by Lazar remained in place in spite of the losses in history. The Serbian King had constructed 1371 a medieval city 200 meters times 300 meters with the walls 2 meters wide. There remained a little of the wall trench, but in the North-East wing donjon is the most intact remnant of the ancient city. The construction visible in our times measure 18 meters in height and had been made of broken and tighten together stones. It has been estimated that there were four stories in height. Always in the East of the city the monument to King Lazar had been erected. In 1971. Sitting proudly with a sword on the hip Lazar represented an enterprising statesman. And at the same time a horseman in the service of Christ.
