Bank & Post Offices

Banks

Numerous banks, local and foreign, are now at the public disposal. You can draw out your money with the VISA and the MasterCard in all private and foreign banks. All banks in the centre of the town assure the service of Western Union, what could be very practical. For exchange there are the commissions in the government banks – ask for “drzavne banke” and do not exist in little exchange offices. There are those everywhere, and you can recognize them as they have been designated as “Menjacnica”, and they are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through all the week and to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. To your purses!

Telecommunications

THE CENTRAL POST situated in No 2, Takovska Street, office of numerous services, like all post offices in the centre of the town and is opened from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. incessantly. You cannot miss it for it is an enormous neoclassical building in front of Parliament. It is most interesting that it has kept the inscriptions in French. It will be easy to circulate and find the window on foot. The telephone cabins for abroad with paying at the window. But there is also the possibility to buy telephone cards for the express dispatch signed “Post express”.

Other post offices opened between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the centre of the town: Slobodana Penezica 2 and Sumadijski Trg 2a. but a third one is interesting for its location in the middle of Knez Mihailova. Go down toward the Danube and at 50 meters there is the post office in Zmaj Jovina Street 17.

To phone from a cabin buy cards at the stand, otherwise you could phone from a great stand, in a classical way dialling. The non plus ultra has been to lean on your elbow between the journals on the Republic Square and, by dialling your mobile, make a call as if nothing happened. Try at least once more. It would be a success.
