Two new hotels in Belgrade?

The construction of two high-category hotels in Belgrade

The Slovenian construction firm, Corpo, has announced that it plans to construct two high-category hotels in Belgrade over the next two years. The investment is estimated at around 82 million Euros.

The construction of the first, smaller hotel with four stars in ul. Cika Ljubina should start within the next three months. The hotel should have a capacity of 90 rooms and 5 apartments, and the investment is valued at 12 million Euros.

It is planned that this will be a business hotel in the centre of Belgrade and is set to be completed in March 2008. Negotiations with companies such as Park Plaza are approaching completion.

According to the company's managment, the facade of the city hotel with four stars, which will be done according to European standards, will maintain the original look from 1935 while being protected with glass. Its appearance will be similar to that of the Yugoslavian Drama Theatre.

The second luxury hotel, worth 70 million Euros, is planned to be built next to the Red Star Stadium, and should be completed by 2009.

This hotel will have five stars with 300 two-bed rooms, 47 apartments, congress centre and hall with 700 spaces, and 4 smaller halls for 60 to 80 spaces.

The management also announced plans for a casina, wellness centre, boutiques, pool, and three restaurants. Corpo is said to be in negotiations with Hilton Hotels.
