The ethno village of Kostunici
Twenty one kilometres North-West away from Cacak, Kostunici, well developed last years a tourist centre surrounded by local traditions and by the rustic habitat. On the massive of Ravna Gora made of old mountains surrounded by the rivers of Semernica and Dicina. Kostunici is a village where one is living among the peasants with their customs and activities. Already at the steps at the entrance women sewing and spinning wool, while the peasants are tilling their fields on the surrounding hills, and all meal you take in the habitat are pure delicacies because the aliments come directly from the farms and prairies from the environment.
A true tourist complex has been formed around the ethno-museum “Prodanovica Magaza”. In a typical house of Sumadija positioned for the occasion you will have a chance to discover the customs of Serbs till recent past. The house once belonged to the merchant Mile Prodanovic. It had served to him for storing and selling the local products before they had been sent to other region or abroad-the rakija, the leather, the cereals. Today this great house is filled with agricultural utensils and for local artisans. There still exist there a few weaving things , forging and everything in connection with the works in the field are here displayed with taste and passion. Just up above there is the ethno-house “Andjelija Misic” especially built for the complex , but in perfect harmony with the village. There are found there the wool ware, embroidery from this region of Ravna Gora , but also the clothes which are now typically Serbian folklore. Finally, Kostunici has got n historical museum and an ethnographic museum. The folklore feasts use to be organised on Vidovdan June 28th and the “Pruning Days”.
